Hello, I’m Doreen Ohlott, formerly known as Doreen Amari, and I grew up in Boonton. My journey in gymnastics began at age 6 at the Slovak Catholic Sokal, and I’ve remained devoted to the sport ever since. I achieved Varsity status as a gymnast and cheerleader at Boonton High School and continued as a college cheerleader at Florida Tech, earning my bachelor’s degree. After college, I moved to Point Pleasant, where I initiated a recreational gymnastics program before marrying. Together with my husband, we opened Flipz Gymnastics in Point Pleasant Beach, where our boys cherished growing up.

Now, years later, I’ve returned to my hometown and taught in the same building where I first practiced gymnastics. I had a thriving program at Boonton Rec Center until the challenges of Covid led to its closure. Currently, I work as a para in preschool at Boonton schools and serve as a camp coordinator for Boonton Park and Recreation. The opportunity to continue doing what I love is truly AMAZING. TumbleOn, a small starting tumbling gym for kids aiming to master the basics, brings immense joy. I’ve had the privilege of working at some of the best gyms in NJ, including Devlin Wall Township Elite, Hawthorne Diamond, and Verona.
